Chalk Board Card

I don't know where I got this card layout from. I have altered it to make the chalkboard flower as the feature and I am really sorry that I can't remember who inspired this card. I must admit it has been a popular card with my friends before we added the chalk effect and it was a lovely card for a workshop last week.

Stamp sets- Heartfelt Thanks, Occassional Greetings.
Cardstock- Whisper white, Mellow moss & Basic Black.
Ink- Basic Black
Accessories- Slit punch, gingham ribbon, Stampin' Pastels®.

For those of you who regularly visit Split Coast Stampers, Occasional Greetings is called All Holidays on this site.

Experimenting with the New

Nancy was kind enough to make this card for me. It has so much new, new, new in it. Card colours like Soft Sky, River rock with Chocolate chip and Whisper white. Stamp sets are Tres Chic background stamp and Think Happy Thoughts. Oh and I still love that scallop circle punch. The Soft sky double stitch ribbon finishes it so nicely, don't you think. This card is simple yet effective.

Big Pieces & Little Pieces

I suspect that you don't visit this site for my cheerful conversation and it's the pretty pictures that keep you coming back.  So here's another sample to keep you smiling. This is a card that I made for a male birthday card using Big pieces stamp set.  It started out as a Black & White card challenge using a beautiful piece of ribbon. As you can see I failed. I didn't use the ribbon and added red to the mix. The card has Basic black (ink and card), whisper white (card), and Real Red (card).  I also used the It's Your Birthday stamp set (sorry I couldn't resist). This card is a simplified version of a card by scrapperaddict (Lisa) on SCS.

Thanks Mel

I only delivered Mel's Stampin' Up order a couple of days ago and already she has sent me pics of a stack of cards she has made. This is just one using Wonderful Favourites and Boho Backgrounds.  Both stamp sets are lovely and great value, especially Wonderful Favourites (page119, 2008/2009 catalogue) which has 23 stamps for just $39.95.  Mel also used the scallop circle punch.  Thanks Mel. With a bit of encouragement I'm sure Mel will happily show us more of her lovely cards.

Cowgirl's Cowboy Card.

This is a card that my 11 year old daughter made with my new stamp set, Bronc Buster. She made this card for her cousin's birthday and I was impressed. This girl would rather be herding cows than card making usually. She would rather be doing anything else and often we get woken at 6pm with the question "Do you want to go for a run?" NO! is my usual response but she is persistant. I'm hoping netball season will be enough to focus her endless energy away from the early morning wake ups.

The card also used Outlaw Double sided designer papers, chocolate chip card and ink, with creamy caramel and really rust card. The happy birthday is from It's your Birthday set. This set I use more than any other set.  Take a good look, it will probably be another year before she will make another card.

Polka Dot and Petals

Thanks Cambria Turnbow for your inspiration with this one. I adapted this card to the smaller rectangle card so it will fit in my display book but I love the larger square version by Cambria. Click on to her site, she is amazing.

The card uses Card- basic black, Real Red and Whisper white. Inks- Basic Black, Real Red and Garden Green.   Accessories- Black & white gingham.

Faux Tile Technique.

I love the Baroque motifs stamp set from the new Idea Book and Catalogue. I received an order of new supplies and I have been very busy getting creative. My favourite In-Colours are Soft Sky and Blue Bayou. Here is a card we made at a workshop using the faux tile technique. Although my demo is a birthday card, several of the cards were made into Mother's Day Cards. We used the Occasional Greetings stamp set and the ice circle rhinestone which is also new to the catalogue. What a great time to have a workshop. You can have fun learning new techniques and you get to take home a lovely card to give your mum!

Kylie's Bud Basics

I bullied Kylie into making a card for me to put in my sample file and she certainly pulled through for me. This card was cased from Sarah Gough on Split Coast Stampers.  Isn't this Bud Basics stamp set so nice.  Colours used are Certainly celery, Tempting turquoise, Pink passion, Orchid opulence, Pumpkin pie and Whisper White. Why not send a nice comment and Kylie might make me another one. LOL

Spring Flowers & Spring Showers Papers

Some of you might have been disappointed to see that the Spring Flowers and Spring Showers papers were not brought into the new catalogue.  Although they aren't listed they are still available for purchase.  Even better is that they cost $11.95, like all of the other double sided designer papers in the catalogue.  This is definately the bargain of the year.  Last year all of these papers were $16.95. Now they cost less than $1 per page.

Changed Again

Sorry, I couldn't help it. They say a change is as good as a holiday. I am getting braver and think that I should be able to add my own title image soon. This blog layout will give me more flexibility to add to it. Should it stay or should it go?

Ooops

I love the new Stampin' Up catalogue. It is beautifully presented with lovely glossy pages, and it is jam packed with so many fantastic things. I should mention that there are a few small errors in it. These errors have been corrected on the website catalogue but not in the printed catalogues.

One error is that the image on page 132 of the Five-in-One Card Cover is incorrect. The above picture is the correct picture.

The Blossoms Abound Stamp set(108755) on page 79 is a two step stampin' set.  The logo for this is missing.

There are 40 C6 envelopes in each pack on page 132 (106588 & 106589) not 20 as stated. Yes!

The Always Artichoke 1/4" grosgrain ribbon on page 146 is actually the same colour as Always Artichoke.  The blue swatch is incorrect.

The punch at the bottom of page 88 is misnamed.  The item code and price listed are for the 1" circle punch, not the the 1-3/8" circle punch.

Although this is not listed as an error, the stamp set Wonderful Favourites(page 119) is a bargain.  23 stamps for $39.95. Brilliant.

I hope this makes the catalogue clearer for you.  Please send a comment if you have any queries about the new catalogue.

New Catalogues

The 2008-2009 Idea book & Catalogue is now available!  It is truly beautiful and I have a wish list that is 3 A4 sheets long.  My family has been very neglected. There are so many lovely things to look at.  New rhinestones, ribbons, rub-ons, patterned papers and my favourite new accessory is the textured 12 x 12 cardstock.  Of course the catalogue has lots of new stamp sets and it has kept quite a few favourites from last year.

If you would like a copy of the new catalogue, please contact me.  They are free if you host a workshop or alternatively, you can purchase one.  They retail for $12.95 but I am selling them for $10.00 for the month of April (if you do not live in the Albany area P&H is additional).

I hope you love the new catalogue as much as I do.
