Tuesday's Tip #2

Just thought I would mention a quick Stampin' Up! trick for having a ribbon that perfectly co- ordinates with your card stock.  Simply place a few drops of desired re-inker colour into a zip lock bag. Then spray water into the bag with a squirty bottle.  When these are combined, add some white grosgrain ribbon and mix until all of the colour is evenly absorbed. Take it out of the bag and allow it to dry (careful, this bit can be messy). If you want to use it as soon as possible, try using your heat gun to hurry things along.  Hope you have fun giving this one a try.

Sorry for the silence

Hello again.  Sorry that things have gone a bit quiet of late.  My youngest has been pretty sick with tonsillitis and  I've found it hard to think of anything worth while to post.  Come to think of it sleep deprivation has made it hard to function so thinking has been totally out of the question.
I promise I will start posting again soon.  Keep checking back, there will be blog candy coming soon.

Blog Counter

Yes, I finally worked out how to add a blog counter, so please visit often so that this blog site doesn't get lonely. LOL.

Tuesday's Tip

If you would like to have a marker that matches the Stampin' Up!  "In Colour" range, try putting a few drops of re-inker into the lid of a blender pen.  The blender pens come in a pack of 3 and have a tip at both ends of each pen.  You can have all six colours ready to go if you add different re-inker colours to each end of the three pens.  Just be careful with how you place the lids when you are using the blender pens, remembering there is re-inker in them.

Thanks Nancy and Kylie

Images copyright Stampin' Up! 1990-2008

Nancy gave me this cuttlebug  folder "script" and I couldn't wait to use it.  Another friend Kylie suggested the colour scheme to go with it and this is the finished product.  What do you think?
Stamp sets: Natural beauty, Birthday whimsy, French flair,  Cardstock: buckaroo blue, chocolate chip, close to cocoa and naturals ivory.  Inks: Chocolate chip, close to cocoa, buckaroo blue, creamy caramel.  Accessories: taupe ribbon, dimensional magic, kindy glitz (not SU), brocade blue, bashful blue markers and blender pen.  I sponged the three brown inks over the embossed area to make it stand out.

Enchante' Papers

Images copyright Stampin' Up 1990-2008

Yes I am in love with my cuttlebug and here is a card that I made using the Enchante' designer series double sided papers, these papers are from the Stampin' Up! Summer mini catalogue (Aust 07/08). It's the angle of the photo that makes the card look bigger on the bottom, it is actually a rectangle. The card stock colours are pale plum, perfect plum and very vanilla.  The circle is from the riveting hostess stamp set. The cuttlebug folder is bloom dots and I used the stampin' pastels to highlight the dots. The stripes and wishing you are actually on the inside of the card with a circle punched out of the cuttlebugged front to allow the wishing you stamp to be seen.  This is a CASE of a card by Cambria Turnbow.

Scrapbooking group

Last night my scrapbooking group met for the first time this year.  The group consists of six very talented women and me.  We were celebrating a birthday and the cards were impressive. They blame me for corrupting them from scrapbooking to cardmaking LOL but I think they have passed my abilities already.  Here is a card that my very good friend Nancy made (sorry the picture is a bit blurry). The original concept was from Ryemilan's blog site.
Stampin' Up! products used include: Stamp sets: It's your birthday, Warmest regards(hostess set) cardstock: very vanilla, perfect plum, pale plum. Papers: Enchante designer series double side paper (Summer mini catalogue). Accessories: Round tab punch, Spring bouquet flower punch set, certainly celery ribbon,

Teacher's present '07

Images copyright Stampin' Up! 1990-2008
Here is a picture of a frame I made for my son's teacher at the end of last year.  I know that it is a bit late but I have a lot of catching up to do.  I used the "All in the Family" set from Stampin' Up! (R) for the kids and teacher.  The frame was inspired by a frame made by Jayne Mercer. Her blog is always an inspiration.  The frame is 12x12 and the letters are painted chipboard. The teacher is waving from the "O" in the middle of her name. I also made a matching card with the teacher and my son represented by the "All in the Family" characters.  The colours I used were brocade blue, certain celery, whisper white and pumpkin pie card stock for the card.   I hope you like it.   This is my first attempt at posting pictures so forgive me if I get it wrong.

Here I am

Welcome to"Happy Little Stamper". This is my very first post of my blog site.  The intention is to share with the world my love of stamping, scrapbooking and all other forms of paper crafts. I have been reading other craft related blogs, with awe and feel that now is the time to dive in.  I am also an independent Stampin' Up demonstrator based in Albany, Western Australia,  so I will be blogging lots of exciting things from Stampin' Up.  In the near future, I hope to add pictures of cards, and other projects that I make for workshops or just because.  Thanks for joining me.
